FAQs

Where do you provide service?

We provide in-home personal training services to lower Montgomery County, Maryland.  This area includes Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Potomac, North Potomac, and Rockville.  We also service Washington, DC.  If you are outside of these locations, please contact us to see if one of our trainers can accommodate your location.  Additional fees may apply.

Do you charge extra for additional family members?

Two family members may work out together for the same price. More than two family members will be charged at a group rate.  Group workouts are charged at a per person rate depending on the number of people in the class or small group workout.

What is a free functional fitness assessment?

Our free functional fitness assessment is a movement assessment for new clients that helps us determine what types of movements you are capable of performing and where you have limitations of movement. It essentially tells us what you can and can’t do.  This assessment is the first step in determining what exercises and movements we will perform during sessions.  Without this assessment we would be guessing how difficult we can make the workout.  Guesswork can lead to injury and we strive never to injure our clients.

How is my trainer selected for me?

Upon the completion of the phone consultation or functional fitness assessment, management will assign a specific trainer to work with the new client.  This decision will be based on many factors, but will focus on matching the trainer we feel is the right fit for you based on our conversation and assessment.  Other factors might include trainer availability, location, male/female preference.

Do you do virtual workouts?

All services may be provided virtually using video conferencing, except massage and muscle activation techniques.  Exclusive to virtual workouts, we also offer shorter workouts including 30- and 45-minute exercise sessions. Virtual workouts require downloaded Zoom software or FaceTime.

What equipment do I need?

You need only yourself for a workout.  A great workout can be done with no equipment at all.  Some tools that will help are stretch bands, a resistance ball, light dumbbells, a floor mat, a chair, stairs, and a wall.

Can I get injured working out with one of your trainers?

At 4 Ever Fit we stress the importance of the initial assessment of each client.  The assessment starts with a conversation where we can gather as much relevant information as we can about you.  After this question-and-answer period we have you fill out a health history questionnaire to provide us with some additional information.  Finally, we perform an in person functional fitness assessment which allows us to watch you move.  This process helps us determine where the greatest risk factors for injury are within your body and gives us a great place to start your program.  We always start with easy exercises and once we see that you can perform simple movements without pain we move to more challenging exercises.  We go at the pace and intensity that we feel is best for you.  Despite our best efforts, injuries can occur during workouts, but we do our best to avoid stressing your body to the level that may cause injury.

How hard are the workouts?

Personal Training workouts are created specifically for each individual based on his or her goals and abilities.  We expect that after each workout you will feel and move better, and your body will function better than before the workout began. Modifications are offered during group workouts to accommodate a wider range of abilities.

How long are the workout sessions?

In-person workout sessions are one hour or longer. Virtual session can be 30 minutes, 45 minutes, 60 minutes or longer.

What is your cancellation policy?

Clients must provide a minimum of 24 hours’ notice for all cancellations. Sessions cancelled without 24 hours’ notice will be charged at the full-session rate.

Do you create written exercise programs for me to do by myself?

We instruct, direct, and guide you during sessions in movements and exercises.  During this process we are teaching and demonstrating specific movements/exercises for you in the hope that you will be able to replicate some of them on your own if you wish to do additional strength workouts.  We will provide you with some simple stretches or cardiovascular homework to perform on your own to help you move towards your goals.  We may occasionally provide you with specific exercise descriptions or movements to help you improve at a faster pace.
